Description
The Pistol Instructor Re-Certification course is designed to re-certify current pistol instructors. The course consists of one day in the classroom and two days of range training. Participants review the information taught in the Pistol Instructors course, including nomenclature, safety precautions, loading, unloading, magazine changes, stoppages, coaching, roles of the instructors, scoring, target analysis, range briefing and calling the line. New topics covered include lesson plan development, designing a course of fire, reflexive shooting, introduction to shooting from the sitting position, concealed/plain clothes drawing techniques, and different trigger types (DAO, DA/SA, DAK, and striker fire).

Agencies are required to bring their own service weapon and leadless ammunition, anticipating firing in excess of 1,000 rounds of leadless ammunition. Agencies unable to provide their own ammunition may purchase it from the academy. For pricing details, please email APA In-Service Training.
