AOTW | Marissa O’Donnell & Spencer Rossiter Named Hurricanes Athletes of the Week
By Reegan MacAulay
Women’s volleyball player Marissa O’Donnell and men’s basketball player Spencer Rossiter have been named the 橘子视频 Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 25, 2026.
O’Donnell, a second-year setter from Fredericton, N.B., studying Kinesiology, put up a strong performance during a road-trip doubleheader against the STU Tommies in Fredericton, N.B., this past weekend. While the Hurricanes lost both games 3-0, they came close to stealing a few sets and kept the Tommies under immense pressure from start to finish.
O’Donnell totalled 55 assists, seven digs, and one block over both games, driving the offense and giving the team every chance, even in defeat.
She and the women’s volleyball Hurricanes return to home court this weekend – Jan. 31-Feb. 1 – to play the Mount Allison Mounties and Crandall University Chargers.

Rossiter played 62 minutes over the weekend, recording 35 points on 13/24 from the field, a 6-for-9 record from three-point range, a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line, and chipping in eight rebounds and one steal. During Sunday’s game alone, he made seven steals.
He and the men’s basketball Hurricanes have this week off and will return the following weekend – Feb. 7-8 – to host the MSVU Mystics at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement.
