Marketing Quick Tips
Micro Branding

  1. Make A Promise To Keep: Before you can start hitting your backyard with a micro-branding campaign, you need to have a brand promise. What does your company do specifically well? What do you offer prospects and customers that your competitors haven't even dreamt up yet? Once you know the answer to these questions, share it with everyone, on everything. Make it your slogan. And for goodness sakes, make sure you keep it.

  2. Target Your Backyard: You might not have the dollars to let everyone in the country now about your brand promise (like Budweiser or McDonald’s can), but chances are you have enough to let everyone in your backyard know it. Now, how big that backyard is depends on what you can afford. It may include a few neighborhoods, an entire town, or a metroplex. Find an area whatever size and make it your playing field.
  3. Pummel From All Sides: Now it’s time to saturate your target with your brand promise and marketing message. Hit them with postcards, canvassing, radio, TV or some mixture of these. Make sure no matter the medium that you are consistent with the look and feel of your marketing.

  4. Commit, Don’t Quit: If you think you are going to saturate the market with a paltry two-month or even six-month effort, you’re crazy. People have a lot on their minds and absorbing your marketing message is not even on their top one-hundred. Branding takes time. Understand this going in, and you won’t want to bailout too soon.

  5. Expand And Conquer: Now that you own your backyard, take the same strategy to win the next backyard over. You already have all the marketing written!
