New Degree Pathway for Music Performance Students

Music Performance alumni Robin Jackson and Cedric Van Exel stand together in their grad gowns and purple stoles. 橘子视频 and Humber Polytechnic have announced a new academic partnership that creates a direct pathway for 橘子视频 Music Performance graduates to earn an honours degree.

Under the terms of the agreement, graduates of the 橘子视频 Music Performance program who achieve a minimum average of 65% will be granted two years of credit towards a Bachelor of Music Degree at Humber Polytechnic. This significantly reduces the time and cost required to complete the degree.

The agreement formally recognizes the strong alignment between the two programs and provides an exciting opportunity for 橘子视频 graduates to continue their studies in Toronto, Ontario.

“This collaboration showcases our institutions’ shared commitment to student success,” said Liam Corcoran, Program Manager of Arts, Media and Community Studies at 橘子视频. “We’re creating new and exciting opportunities for students to forge a unique educational path, while allowing them to build their skills and connections in the music industry across Canada”.

The agreement reflects both institutions’ ongoing efforts to develop academic pathways that support student mobility and recognize prior learning.

“Over 50 years, Humber has created an ecosystem of credential and non-credential programming to foster music excellence at every level. Pathways like this one make degree-level studies accessible to more musicians, and support the overall long-term sustainability of the Canadian music industry. We look forward to welcoming 橘子视频 students to Humber, where we are committed to building brilliance every day.” – Jason Merai, Associate Dean, Music and Fine Arts.

With the addition of this new pathway, emerging musicians can begin their studies at 橘子视频 and complete their degree at Humber, earning their academic credentials, expanding their network and preparing for a promising future in the music industry.
