Job Description

Position Summary

The Solar Ambassador is responsible for generating leads and prospects for the sales team by engaging residential homeowners at their doors, educating them on solar energy solutions and securing appointments for the sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospects for leads by knocking on doors and engaging in conversations with residential homeowners in territories assigned by the supervisor;
  • Works accordingly to the schedule assigned by the supervisor;
  • Educates residents on the benefits of solar energy, government rebates and incentives if applicable and addresses questions and concerns;
  • Follows up with potential leads via door visits, phone calls, or emails to secure appointments; 
  • Books appointments directly with potential clients on-site using an iPad and the Sales Rabbit app;
  • Inputs lead information and details (name, email, phone) into the Salesforce CRM for the Sales team;
  • Ensures all information is accurate, organized and easily accessible for the sales team and management;
  • Coordinates with the sales team and management to ensure a seamless handoff of lead information and to ensure the flow of communication;
  • Attends weekly virtual team meetings and one-on-one check-ins with the supervisor to receive feedback, training and updates; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Door to door residential lead generation, involving daily travel to residential homes in assigned territories;
  • Standing and walking outdoors for extended periods during each shift (8 hours a day), including on uneven surfaces, in all weather conditions;
  • Fixed schedule assigned by management and required to work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
  • Independent role, with virtual team meetings and minimal office presence;
  • Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Criminal record check is required;
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract;
  • Proficiency in English is required, bilingualism in French is an asset;
  • Ability to work independently in assigned territories outdoors exposed to all weather conditions;
  • Punctual, reliable and adheres to designated working hours;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage homeowners on Sunly’s products and services;
  • Comfortable handling rejection and can remain self-motivated, results-driven and focused to work diligently during working hours, staying in the field until all tasks and appointments are completed;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage lead details and appointments;
  • Coachable, trainable and open to feedback; and
  • Experience with Salesforce or other relevant CRM, and apps like Sales Rabbit is an asset.
